3. The purpose procedural text is to tell the reader how to do or make something. The information is presented in a logical sequence of events which is broken up into small sequenced steps. These texts are usually written in the present tense. The most common example of a procedural text is a recipe.

TEXT BOOK PROCEDURES
Class Room Inventory
1.
Before you request text books to be checked out, please
complete and submit the classroom inventory form (Form D) to reflect any changes in your current inventory.
Teacher Check Out
2.
Teachers will complete Form A. Complete top portion of information. Turn in your request to Ms. Jensen’s office.
3.
Custodians will process your request. The number of requested books will be
delivered to your room. Please initial next to “Check Out”
that the correct number of books have been received.
4.
Custodians will return processed requests with teacher
initials to Ms. Jensen.
Student Check Out
5.
Teachers will write the student’s name, year, and sign each
textbook issued to students.
6.
Complete Form B for each class period.
Book Check
7.
A book check will occur three times a year. At the end of each nine week period, teachers
are to conduct a physical book check.
8.
Document on Form B if a student is missing a textbook by
placing an “X” in the designated area.
Please contact the parent.
9.
Make a copy of the form and turn it in to Ms. Jensen’s
office. All copies of book check forms
are due at the end of each nine weeks. (Team Leaders can collect and turn them in
together.)

At the end of the school year, teachers are to collect
textbooks. If a student has lost a book,
he or she must pay for it.

Complete Form C. Custodians will be notified
to process pick up.

Form A should reflect the number of books to be picked up and
any discrepancies should be noted. Attach
copy of Form C.

Custodian will initial next to “check in” and return the form
to Ms. Jensen.
